About us

shanaya puri

Founder & CEO

Hi, I’m Shanaya Puri, an 11th grader from Danville California, and the founder of KindHearts. I started this nonprofit because I have seen firsthand how small acts of compassion can impact others. While volunteering at John Muir Hospital, I realized how just being there, even if it is smiling, having a conversation, or offering a helping hand, can comfort someone going through a difficult time. It made me understand that human connection is especially powerful when it comes from a place of genuine care.

That experience inspired me to create KindHearts, a youth-led effort to bring people together through kindness. Whether we are delivering dental and period kits, writing letters to hospital patients, or visiting seniors, our mission is to remind others that they are not alone with compassion.
